I wish I could have found a blog on what it is like to have a gallbladder surgery. I think I would have felt a little more secure if I read about other people's experiences. Well mine went very well because it was a planned surgery. I did not wait last minute to get my gallbladder out. If you can do the same, I highly suggest it.
Anyway, no big deal I was put under, the surgeon made three cuts, puffed up my stomach with air, and grabbed my gallbladder out. This all took place in 20 minutes. The hard part was recovery from it. I wasn't ready to go until 4 and half hours later, even then, I felt nausea , but I didn't want to stay in the hospital any longer. I was tired all week and was in some pain, but being on meds helped a lot. It was weird, but I'm feeling great.
Sometimes, when I eat it feels a little odd, but I don't see much change to my diet yet. What was shocking to me was that I've been suffering, with this problem since I was 18 or at least I think so. I would say to my mom "my stomach feels like it's exploding." I guess when I complained the doctors, didn't understand that symptom. So if your stomach feels like it's exploding, it could be your gallbladder!
